Open branched tree reaching a height of 3-5m. The dull green leaves turn to an attractive maroon colour in autumn and winter. Soft fluffy white flowers are produced early summer followed by yellow skinned fruit during late summer and autumn. Stems on mature plants are covered with a pale papery bark.

Contrary to it's other common name - Tropical Guava, The Guava will tolerate moderate frost and can even recover from severe frosts.

Cultural

Hardy to -2°C

Harvest:

Harvest fruit when firm and when the colour has changed from green to an even creamy yellow. Allow to ripen properly inside for a few days
